Thought For Today

"To neglect the young in our schools is just like taking the spring out of the year. They, indeed, take away the spring from the year who permit the school to decline, because RELIGION CAN NOT BE MAINTAINED WITHOUT THEM" Melancthon

Agriculture Update

Students and teachers spent 2 hours today spreading compost over another approximately 1500 sq ft of their garden. There has also been a 4x40 ft space tilled for raspberries. The students and teachers had a great time together and got lots of fresh air, sun and exercise.

Agriculture Update

We now have just over 9000 sq ft of garden area that is tilled and we are in the process of getting 40 yards of mushroom compost spread and tilled in. Yesterday the students and teachers were able to spread compost and lime on about 1000 sq ft of the school garden, (where they will be planting spinach, kale, swiss chard, beets and radishes soon) while enjoying a beautiful spring day in East Tennessee.

Thought For Today

"If people or rulers neglect the education of the young, they inflict injury upon both the church and the state; they become enemies of God and man; they advance the cause of Satan, and bring down upon themselves the curse of heaven. This is the fundamental thought that underlies all Luther's writings upon education" History of Education Page 143 or as quoted on Page 230 0f Living Fountains of Broken Cisterns

We will be broadening this program in June to include a full schedule that continues to focus on the Word of God and practical education while including quality academics.
